Hey, editor- you can answer the question- When punctuating the possessive of a pronoun that ends in s, how do you do it? Lucas’? Lucas’s? Which is proper?

short answer = add apostrophe s
I write Lucas’s per Chicago Manual of Style, 15th ed. which is the bible for book publishing.
Lucas’s new brother
Kansas’s legislature
Burns’s poems
Berlioz’s works
Marx’s theories
Jesus’s apostles
the Lincolns’ marriage, the United States’ error (plural add apostrophe only)
AP Style, which is what you’ll see in newspapers and magazines, says to add only apostrophe on singular proper nouns ending in s.
So, it depends on your audience!
