We lived on a property out in Loomis that had a plum tree gone wild (surrounded by a barely penetrable thicket of blackberry vines), and we made plum jam every year. I've never found store jam that lived up to it -- it's always too sweet and bland. I'm so glad you've got this time with him to keep on building on the relationship you have as adults, especially having had the conversations you did last year, showing each other how much you value every second.
