Girls Only: Cup Sizes
Is it actually possible for one’s breasts to be one cup size most of the month, but another (bigger) cup size during the week before one’s period? I’ve slowly noticed over the last year that my breasts get extremely sore and swollen before my period. (It takes me a long time to observe stuff about my body, especially when there’s a whole month in which to forget in between occurrences!) I don’t think this was always the case: I think having a kid and breastfeeding has fundamentally changed my breasts, not just their appearance.

The week before my period my boobs swell up. My nipples, which during the rest of the month I could hang a vice clamp on and not notice, become so sensitive that showering hurts. I also notice that my belly swells a bit, I gain around 5 lbs.. I also want to eat raw salt or anything that has heart stopping levels of salt in it. Which if I do increase the salt intake, the swelling (water retention?) increases.
Weren’t you on birth control up until just before you got pregnant? Are you now?
When I was on the pill I didnt have the swelling and tenderness in the boob area. I was however a rampaging bitch all day every day.

So I’m not crazy. Well, that’s good to know, I guess. I was on the pill for MANY years, but I actually stopped taking it about 2 years before we had Lucas; we relied on non-chemical birth control until we were ready to spawn, and are doing so again now. And during the Pill Years I didn’t have any PMS or bleeding, except only occassionally. I don’t think it made me a rampaging bitch–I had friends and everything during those years. I did, however, get the weight gain.
I think my cycle changed (became more regulated) since Lucas’s birth. I also think my PMS has been more pronounced since I started Atkins almost a year ago. I always crave salt, and haven’t noticed a correlation.
How come I can’t habitualize stuff that’s good for me? I don’t take my vitamins regularly. I don’t floss regularly. I don’t exercise regularly lately. I manage to do such things for a while, and then laziness always wins over righteousness.
Anyway, I guess I shouldn’t get rid of those C cups afterall.
