Counting Down

Today is Lucas’s last day of being 6-years-old. You have never seen a child so excited about a birthday as he is right now. I hope it’s everything he wants it to be, though I don’t really know what he is expecting. We are doing our best to make it special for him. I suspect it will be enough.

Asher gets a reprieve for one more day of nursing. I decided to cut him off after the birthday stress and excitement. May 2 will be his last night of mama milk. On the evening of May 3, I suspect his wrath when he is refused will surpass Khan’s. I know it’s time (some would say it’s long overdue). But for me it’s bittersweet and I am feeling Feelings. Next week probably won’t be too fun in the tantrum department.

I have more to say about both of these topics, but now I must go hunt some ghosts.
