Frustrated

It’s the last day of school. Lucas is home with a fever, earache, and sore throat. He is moaning and crying. I have a work deadline. This is not a good combination. I’m finding it tough to be the compassionate, comforting mommy he needs right now. Not sleeping well last night is a major factor: Not only was Lucas sick and up and down (and awake at 5:45 a.m.), but Asher was feverish and fussy due to routine vaccinations he got yesterday. Timing is everything, ya know? He has a knack for getting very sick on important days. Later this afternoon, I’ll take him to the doc.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Summon patience and grace. Breathe in. Breathe out.
